As of 19:00 GMT iTunes servers are being slammed with activation requests from new 3GS owners.  I’ve been trying for over an hour to try and get my new iPhone activated.  Will update when I’m successful.  Sigh, here we go again….

Expansys are offering the Gigabyte netbook Tablet from 14th Feb.  Usual netbook specs but trying to find out more on the touchscreen.

Well, I’ve taken the plunge and ordered my 50Mb cable broadband from Virgin, due to be installed on Sat 7th Feb.  I’ll be reporting back on its performance.  Should be interesting!

OK, so the ‘beast’, 2.4GHz, 8Gb Quad Core has now got Windows 7 64 bit installed.  I’ve also taken delivery and setup a 2GHz Core Duo, 1Gb, Mac Mini.

Now, I’m not suggesting a fair fight (from a hardware point of view) but this is my first foray into the world of Mac, well apart from my iPhone and I’m quite excited at having the two OS’s to play with.  So far I’m very impressed with OSX, especially how snappy it is (so much so I took the plunge and put it on Lisa’s Dell Mini 9, and very nice it runs too)!  Windows 7 continues to impress, first on my Samsung NC10 and now on my desktop.  I do have 2Gb ram to put into the Mac when I feel brave enough to pull the lid!

Are we in a new golden age of computing?  I kind of feel I am! I’ll be posting more thoughts soon…

Well, today is the day of the official Windows 7 Beta.  Limited to 2.5 million downloads there seems to be 2.5 million geeks hitting refresh on the Official Windows 7 Blog as trying to get onto the site results in ‘Server is too busy’.

Should be even more fun trying to gt the download when it goes live later today!

Well, the speculation was true.  Let’s hope he gets well soon.  I’m sure he’ll be getting the finest treatment money can buy!

Official: Nvidia to move into netbook space - The Inquirer

Nvidia has announced they are going to be allowing the Intel Atom to spread its wings by teaming it up with a top notch mobile chipset.

This could be a game changer as it will push the value of netbooks over traditional laptops even more, especially if the pricing can remain low.
